SHL, a global leader in the production of drug delivery systems such as auto-injectors, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the expansion of their new manufacturing facilities in Taiwan. This event will also serve as the opening ceremony for SHL's 20th Anniversary.

At the end of last year, signed a Letter-of-Intent with the Taiwan Government to invest $100 Million USD over a period of 5 years. In keeping with this commitment, SHL has already invested $15 Million USD into a 2000m2 expansion, with new machinery for tooling, CNC machining and automation. With this top-of-the-line machinery and the support of expatriate professionals, the expansion is estimated to not only create new job opportunities but also provide technology and expertise transferable to local staff in Taiwan.

CEO Roger Samuelsson, the keynote speaker at the event stated, "We are excited to see our company continue to expand and grow. Our goal is to bring in the latest technologies and capabilities to SHL so that we can provide our customers with even more services. Now, SHL has over 1,500 staff globally (with 1000 staff in Taiwan). And, I am pleased to announce that we will double in size over the next three years."

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place in the expansion area of 'Taoyuan One', with distinguished guests from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taoyuan Government, AMCHAM, ECCT and the Swedish Trade Council. After the ceremony, all the guests were taken on a private tour the facilities where millions of auto-injectors and pen-injectors are manufactured and distributed throughout the world.
